Delivery Process

There are two types of delivery; vaginal delivery and operative delivery. The vaginal delivery includes natural childbirth, induced labor and family-participated delivery.

Delivery Phase 1

From the start of regular labor pain until the uterus entrance opens up Delivery Phase 1 is divided into the latent period when the uterus entrance opens up to 3cm and the active period when it opens up to 10cm. If you apply too much strength, your muscle will strain and the uterus entrance won’t open well. This may cause more difficulties in your delivery, so try to relax. During the active period, it is recommended to perform pain-free operations through epidural anesthesia and inject painkiller to mitigate the labor pain.

Delivery Phase 2

After the uterus entrance has completely opened up until your baby is delivered When the uterus entrance fully opens up, your baby comes down the parturient canal. To help your baby’s head pass through the narrow parturient canal, you start to concentrate your strength while labor pain lasts. It normally takes 50 minutes for a first-time mother and 20 minutes for an experienced mother. By the time your baby’s head starts to show, you will be moved to the delivery room to deliver your baby.

Delivery Phase 3

After your baby is born until the placenta comes out After your baby is born, the placenta comes out. In most cases, the placenta automatically falls off the uterus wall and the uterus contracts when it is completely discharged. If no abnormal symptoms are found, the cut perineal region will be sutured.
